Oswestry Cricket Club are pleased to announce that from the spring of 2012 we are now licenced under the Marriage Act 1949 and the Civil Partnership Act 2004, to carry our Civil Marriage and Partnership Ceremonies at our Morda Road Clubhouse. In  addition we are pleased to be able to carry out Civil naming, re-affirmations of vows, citizenship and civil funeral ceremonies within our buildings and grounds.

Our main clubhouse room is now licenced for all of these Civil Ceremonies, and the number of guests which you can invite will depend on the layout of the room, but which ever the layout, this should be a minimum of 80 guests. Our spacious clubhouse, already renowned as one of Shropshire premier function venues, has the perfect backdrop of our ground, and with our west facing glass fronted room, you are guaranteed the best of the Oswestry sunshine on your special day. Once you have chosen Oswestry Cricket Club as the venue for your big day, your can relax in the knowledge that you are having everything under one roof, your Ceremony, your Reception, your Wedding Breakfast and even your Evening Reception.

Every ceremony can be personalised and we have a specialist who will work with you to ensure that you can concentrate on enjoying your day, whilst we make things happen for you.

Once you have chosen our Morda Road Clubhouse as the venue for you Civil Ceremony you will need to contact the Superintendents Registrar’s office, Shropshire Council Offices, Shrewsbury on 0845 678 9016 or the Registration Service on 0345 678 9016 to book their services. This needs to be done before you confirm your event with us. Unfortunately this is something that the club cannot do on your behalf. The Registrars office will discuss the various legalities involved, when you make your booking with them.

Every day can be personalised to suit your specific requirements, and we promise to help plan your day, from Canapes and/or drinks on arrival, to the taxi’s home at night. We can provide an overall package that includes everything from a disco for the evening to flowers for the day, or we can work with you and help co-ordinate arrangements that you may wish to organise yourself. Our caterers can help you design the perfect wedding breakfast with options for evening buffets, hog roasts; literally we can do whatever you want.

You will find our “can do” approach refreshing, and not one blighted by “must haves”, minimum numbers, imposed alternatives and time restrictions. We just ask you to think of our neighbours when yours guests leave!!
