PLAYING NEWS

Mixed results for all the senior sides as we get near the business end of the season, the results of the next few weeks will determine whether our teams are pushing for promotion or midtable anonymity! Availability is always a struggle in the summer holidays so thanks to everyone who is making themselves available and thanks to those are stepping in to help out. As someone who didn’t play cricket and was persuaded to help out by Mike Robinson you never know where it may lead!

The midweek Aardvarks side finished 3rd in the midweek league and had a great mix of junior players getting extra experience of senior cricket, thanks to Dave Keighley and Andy Walker for running the side this year.

GROUNDS, EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES

The new mobile batting cage has been purchased and assembled, it’s an excellent piece of equipment but we do need to make sure we look after it. It should only be moved via the bar that is pinned in place and removed to use and should never be moved via pushing and pulling the frame itself.

Thank you for all the donations towards the Frogbox live streaming equipment we now have the funds to move ahead with purchasing it to be set up for the rest of this season. After some final checks around compatibility with existing technology we hope it will be in place for the weekend of the 16th/17th August.

SUMMER CAMP

We are running our popular summer cricket camp again this August and there are a few places still remaining

DATES: 13TH – 15TH AUGUST

AGES: 8-15

TIMES: 10.00AM – 4.00PM (EARLY DROP OFF AND LATE PICK UP AVAILABLE)

PRICE: £30 PER DAY, £85 FOR 3 DAYS, SIBLING DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE

Open to players of all abilities, excellent facilities available and will be great fun!

CHRISTMAS / DECEMBER BOOKINGS

Although it feels very early we are already getting booked up for dates in December so if your business will soon be thinking about Christmas parties then please don’t forget we can do them and make an enquiry with the club. I can say from experience my business had ours at the club last year (no discount!) and had a great time and will be coming back.

SOCIAL NEWS

There is lots going on at the club besides the cricket so keep an eye out on Spond and social media.
