Not much cricket to report on but junior and senior nets have been very well attended and of course the WaGs indoor side have been playing and winning!

Clubsmark / All Stars / Coaching / Course
The Junior registration event is scheduled for Sunday 13th April at 5.00pm. We will also be making a change this season with Friday allocated to be the junior training night, we hope this change will benefit both the Children and the parents who can all enjoy the Friday in the knowledge its not a school night!
Cricket will soon be with us so make sure that anyone who needs kit orders soon so it arrives in time.
White senior playing shirts and caps direct from the club's supply (100% of money to the club) via the club website:
Oswestry Cricket Club, Stonehouse Oval, Morda Road, Oswestry, SY11 2AY

Or a wider selection of playing and training kit from the Oswestry store on the Macron website, if ordering via this method there is a discount code: OCC10 which can be used for a 10% discount on all purchases
Oswestry Cricket Club SNR Macron Store Wrexham
Oswestry Cricket Club SNR Macron Store Wrexham
Oswestry Cricket Club Vanir Full Length Zip Top SNR. from . Colours
The Macron kits and clothing will be used for at least the 2025 and 2026 seasons so if you are buying this year you are buying for at least 2 seasons worth of usage.
Affordability and accessibility of cricket to everyone is at the heart of every decision we make and please remember that the hardship fund set up by the club is in place for this season to help anyone where personal finances would prohibit them or their children from participating either in memberships, subs, kit etc. You can approach anyone you feel comfortable with linked to the club and your details will be passed to the relevant people.
Individual grants for help with kits etc. can be accessed via Oswestry Sports Forum, this way of accessing funds for the costs associated with playing sport is underused and underutilised so it is worth a look.
2. A member of the Grants Committee will be nominated as Grant Mentor for each application. This person will have experience in a different sport in a local club.

Membership fees and match fees
As outlined last month there will be changes to the membership fees and subscriptions in 2025 to make it simpler and more affordable, the options are summarised again below:
- Full adult senior playing membership is now just £150 which is down from £200 - no match fees for season, fully paid up in advance
- Removal of £50 part time senior and £100 student membership with £10 match fee – this payment method is no longer available
- Replaced by all senior players who need to pay £20 social membership and then a £10 match fee per game played
- WaGs membership remains at £50, this covers WaGs training, WaGs games, equipment etc. Additional match fee if a game is played for one of the men's senior teams.
- Junior membership remains at £50, this covers junior training, junior games, equipment etc. Additional match fee if a game is played for one of the men's senior teams.
We will also be changing how we manage membership / subscriptions and organise the cricket as we will be moving from Coacha and WhatsApp to software called Spond. Some people will be aware of Spond from other sports clubs, and we think that using this for membership and management of junior and senior cricket sections, as well as social membership will provide better governance, better communication and avoid the duplication of having multiple WhatsApp groups. The building of the club structure etc. within Spond is being completed as we speak and special thanks to Andy Pugh and Paul Baker for their work behind the scenes so that we are hopeful we will be able to launch this at the start of April in time for the 2025 season.
The Committee believe that moving to this platform will be a major improvement on the way we do many current functions as a club but will there be teething problems? probably so bear with us!
Grounds
Preparation for the coming season is well under way with lots of hard work going on already, Saturday 5th April / Sunday 6th April is “Get Set Weekend” when clubs across the country ask for volunteers to help get their clubs and grounds ready for the season.
Please can as many people as possible please come down at 10.00am on Saturday 5th April to help out, many hands make light work and if we get enough people and enough work done on the Saturday, we hopefully should not need the Sunday.
