NEWSLETTER – JULY 2025
PLAYING NEWS
All the senior weekend sides have been very competitive so far this season, the 1st team are currently riding highest sitting 2nd in the league at the halfway point. Availability this season is much improved which has transferred into results and performances on the field and we’ve had the difficulty of having to leave people out on a Sunday which is a luxury after last season!
The WaGs side continue to be hugely successful and sit top of the Softball League currently, and our Junior sides are all well placed as they come towards the final games of their season. We’ve also had another batch of juniors play their first senior games this year with some excellent performances across the board.
GROUNDS, EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES
Thank you to Dave and our grounds volunteers for keeping the ground and wickets in such great condition allowing for the unprecedented dry spell we’ve had. (No duck pond yet this season…)
We continue to invest in improving the equipment, grounds and facilities so that members, players and visitors have the best experience possible so we are currently midway through an upgrade of the kitchen to be able to provide catering facilities for bigger and better events in the future.
We have also replaced the mobile batting cage and purchased a brand new one which has been assembled this week, special thanks to Cab, Andy Walker, Rich Wynn, Stu, Farns and Steve for their help putting it together as it’s a serious piece of kit!
We also intend as a club to purchase Frogbox live streaming equipment for use by seniors, juniors and WaGs. This will allow live streaming of games, highlights of individual innings, and it can be used as a training tool. This is an exciting development for the club and we are in the last stages of raising money for it so that we do not need to wait until next season for it to be installed. A crowdfunding campaign will be launched this weekend to raise the last funds needed to make it a reality.
