Senior Teams

Oswestry Cricket Club is proud to have 4 Senior teams that play in the Shropshire County Cricket League at the weekends, two Mid-week teams; The Aardvarks and The Rough and Tumblers (AKA 'The RAT's), who play in the Shropshire Midweek League. We also have an outstanding Womes and Girls Team who play many fixutres on Sunday mornings throughout the season, and in various indoor leagues during the off-season.

Normally, our 1st XI and 2nd XI play on Satrudays and our 3rd and 4th XI's play on Sundays. This ensures that no matter what (other than the weather) there is alwasy a game going on at The Stonehouse Oval over the weekends.

The Senior teams play 45 to 50 overs on Satrudays and between 30 and 40 overs on Sundays.

We believe that it is important to have 4 teams, with the 3rds and the 4ths playing on Sundays. With such a succesfull Junior section, we believe that it is vital that we give our Juniors a pathway to senior cricket and these teams, especially our 4ths, always have a balance between Senior and Junior players allowing a solid platform for our Juniors to grow into the Senior game.

Our Aardvarks and Rough and Tumblers teams play during the week, with away fixtures nornally on a Tuesday and Home fixtures on a Thursday. These games are T20 format, and our aim is to give younger players and the super keen more experienced players the oppourtunity of playing the T20 format during the week, giving them great experience that they can take forward in this format, and in the longer format played at the weekends. It is a little more light-heartd, but as usual, OCC play to win!
